Habitat Studies

Working in the field to observe and record specific species in a habitat to create an overview for reference and enjoyment. Example habitats include favourite places, gardens at home and further afield.

Stiffkey Saltmarshes, on the North Norfolk coast, is a special place for our family, and creating a piece to bring together all the specimens over the summer season was so much fun! Below you can see a bit of my process, as well as the final piece. Key specimens identified here include: Sea-lavender, shrubby sea blite, sea thrift, glasswort, and creeping bent grass.
